A random selection from a small collection I own of mugshots from the USA.
We can relax…..if he is still alive he is now 100 yrs old.
Wouldn’t that be amazing if he was. I hope he wouldn’t be mad at me!
He stopped getting mad in 1982 when at the age of 72 he was kissing his grandchild and realized that life was too short for all the shenanigans. A week after that re-birth the poor soul had a stroke and died. His last thoughts were of a life wasted.
Hey there it is great to see another blog about ephemera! I’ve nominated you for the Reality Blog Award – keep posting!
Wow. Cool! Thanks!
Oh my goodness – how amazing is it that a photo from Aliquippa, PA, a small town about an hour from Pittsburgh where I live, is now in your collection across the world? The date is also interesting to note – how many of these happen on a leap year?
Goodness. These types of items are so other-worldly to me that it is almost a surprise to hear that someone actually lives near the place where he comes from. You are a darling to point out the specialness of the date. It had escaped me that there was even a date on it, due to the fact we write our dates D/M/Y as opposed to M/D/Y. I think I will update the post.
I’m glad to be of help 🙂 – it’s just so rare to see anything for leap year, let alone from my part of the world – the Internet will never cease to amaze me!
Wow there is something really beautiful and sad about this image. The face forward image he looks angry but in that instant where he turned for the next photo it appears remorse has set in. Remorse for the crime he committed, remorse for getting caught, maybe just resigning himself for a long stay in jail. Whatever emotion he is feeling in that one captured moment it seems drastically different and less malignant than the previous.
Thanks for your heartfelt and thoughtful comment Stephanie!
