This Chicago Tribune press photo of actress Lillian Gish has been roughly cut to approximately 8 x 10 inches. Although the earliest date on the back of the image is 1941, the film which is mentioned, Hearts of the World, was a silent film directed by D. W. Griffith, in 1918. The various printers marks, that were used to mask and crop the image for publication, indicate that it may also have been used on a previous date.
