A very unusual group photo from the Victorian era. It fell out of an opportunity shop book while browsing. I paid $0.20 for the photo – they kept the book.
What a wonderful find! That bundled-up baby in the woman’s lap is rather alarming. I hope it’s well. Photos like this are fun because, even though it doesn’t have the polished prettiness of a more formal studio photo, it has a candid quality that feels more authentic.
Yes, I was a bit worried about the baby. This photo really intrigues me. I posted it because it reminds me of the fabulous photos you have on your site. I could write an essay about it but in this blog I am letting the photos and other items do the talking. Katherine (aka Photobooth Journal)
