There is no information about this picture on the back, so I cannot tell you anything about it. It is Horton Spurr and he was cool. Enough said.

Horton Spurr as well as being a movie double, a Vaudeville performer and comic, was also a strong-man who performed acts of derring-do for the public. In this undated photo (probably from the 1920s) Horton displays his prowess in an extremely remarkable display of strength and courage.

I have tried to find a record of the old newspaper in which this photo and presumably an article appeared, without any luck, so far. I love the crop marks and the retouching that was done to highlight Horton’s features for the newspaper printing. All photos are 8 x 10 inches. More to come.
